High-Speed Tensile Test of High-Strength Steel
Introduction
High specific strength steels are utilized in modern automotive design to reduce vehicle weight and CO2 emissions. This application note reviews the effects of train rate on observed tensile strength of SPFC 980 HSS over the range of 0.0001 to 5m/sec utilizing the Shimadzu HITS system and a pin-type grip.
