Oxford Lasers FireFLY laser lens illustration.Light up bright high-speed research events like welding, shaped charges and more with synchronized short-pulse laser illumination. Lasers are a perfect lighting solution when stopping down lenses to small apertures, increasing shutter speed, and using additional lens filters fail to get the shot. Target the laser’s 808 nanometer wavelength with a bandpass filter to image through the brightest events!

Oxford Lasers FIREFLY 500W Class 4 short-pulsed lasers are compact, versatile laser illumination solutions for high-speed, bright-event and laser light sheet illumination imaging applications. The FIREFLY series include two models; the FIREFLY 500-S (standard) and FIREFLY 500-LS (laser light sheet illumination) – both models provide powerful, short-pulsed laser illumination for ultra high-speed imaging applications.

FIREFLY 500-S (standard)

The FIREFLY 500-S is a compact, 500W short-pulsed laser with multiple optical accessories for your research. Synchronize the FIREFLY 500-S with ultra high-speed video cameras and take advantage of the FIREFLY’s maximum pulse frequency of 100,000 hertz and 3 million hertz maximum burst frequency to capture the action!

FIREFLY 500-LS (laser light sheet illumination)

The FIREFLY 500-LS provides 500W short-pulsed laser light sheet illumination for PIV (particle image velocimetry) and other research applications. Capture your data with the FIREFLY 500-LS and ultra high-speed video cameras to record standard, high-speed and time-resolved PIV for fluid dynamics and transient flow phenomena with a maximum pulse frequency of 10,000 hertz.
