International Digital Image Correlation Society 2020 Virtual Conference Registration Call

October 19–22, 2020

Given the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to postpone the in-person joint Photomecanics-iDICs conference in Nantes (France) to 2021. However, we remain committed to the timely dissemination of knowledge, professional networking and the missions of the iDICs: evolving the applications, training, standardization, and practice of Digital Image Correlation.

We have therefore organized a virtual iDICs conference in Autumn 2020 to best meet the goals of iDICs and so authors can share and discuss their paper and work under preparation this year.

For the authors who submitted a paper already for the physical event, they will be invited to record in advance a 20-minute video using a very easy tool which can automatically mix slides and the accompanying verbal and visual presentation in a split-screen format. We will collect all of these presentations and organize a schedule for the attendees to view them. The presentations will be made available a few days before the beginning of the virtual event for all of the attendees to view and study—allowing even more dissemination of these works than the physical conference.

From Monday 19th to Thursday 22nd October 2020, the virtual event will be accessible to registered participants only. We are including all of the activities typical of an in-person conference, including vendor sessions, plenary speakers, committee meetings, and research presentations. Sessions will have minimal overlap, allowing broad participation by all attendees. The live general sessions will allow attendees to discuss the presentations with the authors through a video chat room. Each presentation will be assigned to a session, based on general topic areas, where every author will recap their work (3–5 minutes) and participate in a dedicated 10-minute discussion.

We think it will be a great opportunity for you to highlight your work and get substantive feedback in a format that makes broad participation possible.
