The Perfect Balance of Speed, Size & Memory.
The i-SPEED 5 Series from iX Cameras includes new mid-range cameras designed with value in mind. These cameras strike the perfect balance between speed, size, and memory. Equipped with a state of the art full HD resolution sensor, there’s plenty of power for laboratories, research and test range applications. Up to 144GB of memory in a compact package for long duration recording and still be able to fit the camera into tight areas and lab spaces. Incorporating a truly innovative internal cooling system, these cameras are environmentally sealed and the first in their class for use in highly demanding environments.
Intuitive Versatile Control
The i-SPEED 5 Series offers the most versatile and varied output and control options available, allowing the ultimate freedom to use the camera in a variety of applications and industries. Whether you’re controlling it through the touchscreen CDUe (control display unit) or a PC, you’ll use an intuitive control system, allowing for quick recording, playback, cropping and saving of clips. Multiple video outputs allow for instant streaming of camera images, third-party connectivity and live interaction. Standard and rugged Ethernet connections and dedicated discrete connectors for trigger, sync, and exposure functions provide easy access connectivity for scientific applications.
State of the Art 1080p HD Sensor
The heart of the i-SPEED 5 Series is a custom 12-bit CMOS light sensitive image sensor capable of recording 6,382 fps at full HD resolution, 1920 x 1080 pixels, with a maximum frame rate of 1,000,000 fps*. Exposure times from 1µs up to 293ns are achieveable with the standard and fast mode shutter options*.
SSD Storage & Transfer Solutions
The i-SPEED 5 Series cameras feature a blazing fast internal solid-state drive starting at 500GB and maxing out at 8TB for your data acquisition. The cameras also feature a bay for swappable SSD media so you can store and transfer large video files quickly and with ease from the camera to your computer.
iX Cameras XSSDs are available in a variety of industry-leading storage capacities – 250GB, 500GB, 1T and 2TB for your ultimate high volume transfer solution.
Innovative Internal Cooling System
This camera is powerful enough to be used on ballistics ranges, in environmental chambers, in bespoke test environments and in laboratories. To make the camera more robust and resistant to environmental effects, the engineers designed a completely new cooling system that extracts heat from the sensor and electronics without airflow. This unique technology allows the camera’s electronics to stay cool and keeps the image sensor completely sealed. No airflow in or near the internal optical system – ideal for DIC, PIV, motion analysis and other test technologies that rely on black level reference.

[1] Select from three trigger modes: Circular – camera is triggered manually or with software.
ROC (Record on Command) – press trigger to record, release to stop.
BROC (Burst Record on Command) – allows you to set the number of frames to be recorded during the burst. The trigger can be pressed multiple times until the memory buffer is full.
[2] The IXV format is a proprietary video format allowing greater control over bit depth and processing, but is only readable with i-SPEED 2.0 Viewer software.
